ALSO Mob complimenting Emi’s work by saying it took a lot of effort is like the nicest thing??? Becuase you know what positive role models he has? The Body Improvement Club! And you know what they care about? EFFORT! They dont care so much that Mob is weak and faints a lot and couldn’t to a pull up to save his life! They care that he showed up and gave his best effort and put in the work, becuase that’s what’s really important!!!

So like legit him saying it took a lot of effort and was therefore worthy of being saved is way nicer when you consider where that kind of a statement is coming from. Like yeah to Emi it def would have sounded shallow at first but like Mob was honestly giving her a sincere and heartfelt compliment despite his lack of skilled reading comprehension. Mob cant really tell or even cares if the book was good or not, what he cares about it that Emi poured her heart into it and it took time and she tried her hardest, and that’s really what writers need to hear tbh, that ths effort alone made their work something special. The effort is what matters.

Emi couldn’t see that at first, but Mob could. And that’s what helped her see him for the first time, not as a loser or as an esper, but as a sweet and honest boy who only wanted to help.
